Yoga healed my four-year-long hives and led me to start my journey into yoga
therapy. Lucy, a yoga therapy instructor who is constantly moved by nature and
filled with inner energy.
What attracted me to yoga is not the daily practice of postures; I believe yoga
has the magic of self-healing and restoration. I prefer therapeutic yoga because
it allows for safer posture practices, avoiding injuries caused by postures. It’s
amazing how yoga techniques can solve specific problems and meet special needs! Yoga postures can awaken muscle activation and bring balance to the body. By assessing the body, we gain a better understanding of our own issues and use postures to make targeted adjustments.
By practicing gradually, we can achieve self-healing. Even more amazing is that through practicing yoga, I can maintain long periods of focus, and this improvement doesn’t just stay in the yoga studio—it follows me. When I practice yoga, I learn to consciously relax my nerves, and I find myself doing the same throughout the day. My body feels more at peace, with less anxiety and stress, and over time, these little changes transform my behavior and my entire life, making me a more relaxed and happier person. Nowadays, people need yoga to clear their minds more than ever. Yoga breathing techniques can regulate emotions and help escape the fluctuations caused by negative emotions, ultimately achieving deep relaxation.
Since 2017, I have continuously completed certifications such as the 300-hour Yoga Therapy Certification, Postnatal Recovery Yoga Therapy Certification, Healing Yin Yoga Instructor Certification, Musculoskeletal System Integration Training Certificate, 100-hour Yoga Therapy Advanced Program Certification, 21-Day Perfect Body Shaping Plan Instructor Certification, and Meditation Teacher Certification.
As an instructor, my passion is guiding others to explore their own body and mind. I enjoy witnessing the changes in my students, from their physical bodies to their inner selves, through my guidance. Without such exploration, we cannot achieve the true goals we have in relation to the world. The students I’ve helped not only gained beautiful physiques, but more importantly, awakened their mindset and found satisfaction in beautiful things. Beyond the mat, I hope to spread this energy to more people through retreats, healing salons, corporate events, and more.

Slow Self Founder, Event Curator
Hi there, I am Betty. Happy to meet you.
Born into a family of artists, my journey in painting began at birth. My earliest
memories involve a house filled with art supplies. In high school, I attended a
local art school where I started learning painting systematically. One of my
artworks was even collected by the local library, giving my young heart a small
sense of accomplishment.
After coming to the United States, though I pursued another field of study, I never stopped loving painting. In 2010, I began teaching children's art, and in 2016, I opened my own art studio in Connecticut, Betty Art Studio. While teaching, I also took advanced courses at Yale School of Art, which gave me a new understanding of art. During this journey, I once again felt vibrant and alive.
Through art, I guide children to see, hear, smell, and feel things in a unique way. I treasure each moment spent immersed in a painting with them, filling me with happiness and immense strength. I created the "Museum Exploration" class, where we enter the stories of past artists with curiosity—experiencing emotions of inspiration, perseverance, admiration, and regret. These stories stir the children's emotions, allowing them to portray the masters within them on paper.
At the same time, I also focus on art therapy, helping people escape life's troubles by immersing themselves fully in the present through art. They use colors to express their emotions, freely splashing them, releasing their innermost feelings. Art reaches deep into the human spirit, and in those moments, you see your truest self.
Life is tough, but I find joy in it. I enjoy cooking, especially sharing meals with close friends. I love traveling with my family and meeting new people. I have a wonderful family, with three lovely children who always support me in doing what I love. They help me a lot, and I am incredibly grateful for everything I have and never take it for granted.
I always share my smiles and joy with others. I love to laugh, though I also have moments when I want to be left alone and recharge. I enjoy capturing every memorable moment in life. I believe in the positive energy of people. I am honest and straightforward. My friends would say I organize things well—I hope this doesn't come off as domineering, as I simply wish to avoid unexpected chaos.
This is who I am.
I'm happy you’ve stayed to learn about me. If you're willing, we can have a deeper conversation, grow together, and share love.
